Bridging the Communication Divide in the Workplace
Apr 18, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am
To be an effective human resource manager means being able to effectively negotiate and ensure that situations provide a mutual benefit to all members of the business, employees and the organization as a whole. The ability to negotiate requires strong communication skills. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) offers a process for employees, managers and human resource directors alike to better manage inter and intra personal conflicts which are common in all workplaces.
Do you feel at a loss when trying to communicate with people who have different or stronger views than your own? Do you want to get better at listening to others even when a part of you may be feeling criticized or judged? How would you like to be able to easily express how you really feel? In this workshop we will explore these vital questions and more. NVC turns conflict into connection by recognizing and addressing the implicit, unmet feelings and needs that underlie conflict.
Participants in this introductory workshop will be able to:
- Listen empathically to encourage safe and happy workplace environments
- Receive “hard to hear” statements without taking it personally
- Learn to make requests (not hidden demands)
**Registration is required prior to the workshop.
