History

Formerly an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Giving Monadnock became a Community Project of Hannah Grimes in 2010 with many of its board members now serving on the Steering Committee. This shift in its economy of scale allowed Giving Monadnock to provide the same programs that Monadnock-region nonprofits have come to expect for a fraction of the overhead costs that were incurred as a stand-alone entity. By making this change, moving to a primarily volunteer-based model and collaborating with other nonprofits, we have significantly dropped our annual operating budget. And with nonprofits making up over 15% of New Hampshire's economy, it seemed only natural to include Giving Monadnock under the Hannah Grimes umbrella where we work to weave together business, local economy and community.

We're proud to be able to continue our mission of improving the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations and promoting a spirit of giving.
